We’re doing something a little different today. We’re going on a tour of the newest grocery store in town!

On Tuesday I had the opportunity to tour the new Sprouts Farmers Market in Raleigh before it’s grand opening on Wednesday morning. The grocery store is the first Sprouts Farmers Market in North Carolina and it couldn’t have gotten here soon enough! The variety of healthy options at affordable prices was unbelievable. Do you see that produce section below?! There is so much selection! They have a great array of organic options, but also conventional options if you aren’t at a place where you want to eat (or want to pay for) organic food. That being said, the prices of both conventional items and organic and natural items is amazing. The store is a slight trek from where I live, but it is so worth it!

Another exciting tidbit about Sprouts is that their weekly coupon flyers are good from Wednesday through the next Wednesday, instead of Wednesday through Tuesday, like most stores. This means double the items are discounted on Wednesdays. How awesome is that?! And why don’t more stores do that? They even have a mobile app that lets you choose which coupons you want to use and pulls up all of those bar codes for you to scan when you get to the register. I’m telling you, this place is magical.

Below are the vitamins and supplements and health and beauty areas of the store. There are so many products that they need two of these ladders to reach everything. Just like everywhere else in the store, the selection of products (and scents) is amazing. I grabbed two bar of almond-scented soap and a bar of lavender-scented soap for only $1 each. Both smell amazing!

One of my favorite sections of the store is the bulk foods area. I love nuts and dried fruits and eat both almost every day, so I can’t wait to check out all of the options they have. In addition to nuts and dried fruits, they also sell beans, grains, flours, granolas, candies, and chocolate covered everything under the sun! You can get your steel cut oats, chocolate covered pretzels, rice, and dried figs all in the same place. This is a dream come true for people like me who like a little of everything, but don’t go through it fast enough to buy a full container. They also have bulk spices! How often do you make a recipe that calls for one tablespoon of a spice you don’t have so you either buy an entire bottle, which sits on your shelf for a year, or just skip the spice altogether? Bulk spices fix that problem! If you just need one tablespoon, you can take just one tablespoon.

The store’s motto is “healthy living for less,” and they are truly committed to that. They carry tons of plant-based and alternative diet foods, from the typical almond milk and gluten free bread to sesame milk and vegan condiments. Every time I turned the corner I was amazed at how wide their selection was. I mean, they have a whole wall of yogurts! And I’m not talking just a few sections of the dairy section, we’re talking a half of the dairy wall.

The frozen food section is filled with hard-to-find ice creams, both dairy and alternative options. They even carry some of the healthier ice creams that are all the rage right now and TONS of Talenti gelato and sorbet. I know where I will be stopping next time ;)

Each Sprouts Farmers Market store carries local items. In this case, local is defined as goods that are produced in North Carolina or within 500 miles. This entire shelf of food is filled with local items, but all of the local items around the store have blue tags to make them easily identifiable as well.

I can’t say enough good things about the new Sprouts Farmers Market. Triangle friends, go check it out! It is so good!
