july goals

July GoalsJuly is flying by and these July goals are coming way later than I had hoped (as in, I hoped they would be posted at least in the first half of the month. whoops). I think monthly goals might not be the best way for me to get things done, but seasonal goals are much easier to accomplish. I often get wrapped up in events and work and trips and don’t get to the monthly goals necessarily within the month, but I could get to them with the longer, more flexible timeline of the season. As I say that, I look at my June goals list, and am surprised at how many of them I accomplished. Maybe it is a combination of setting realistic goals and setting challenging goals in a realistic timeline.

What I really want my goal for July to be is: HOLD ON AND KEEP GOING, because that’s what it feels like I’m struggling to do. We have so much going on and with wedding season in full swing, I am gone every weekend, leaving grocery shopping, laundry, cooking, and exercise to all be squished into the weekdays, which, as you can imagine, doesn’t all happen.

Update on June Goals:
-Unpack and set up guest bedroom – I unpacked almost everything then attempted to set up the bed, which is when it got even more crowded and messy, but that is a story for another day.
-Celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary (!) – We did! We went to Riverdance and ate cake :)
Make a practice wedding cake – Made many!
-Hang curtains (living room, bedroom, guest bedroom) – Whoops, not yet.
-Create blog posts to have on hand for the busy month of July – Created some, but those are depleting.
-Finish raised garden bed and transplant herbs, veggies and flowers – We finished making the raised garden bed and planted some herbs, but no veggies and flowers, since it is way to hot to plant now.

July Goals:
-Celebrate 4th of July with family in Georgia
-Make a wedding cake
-Find ways to exercise even when it is 100 degrees outside
-Hang curtains in living room and guest bedroom (holding off on bedroom because I want to paint)
-Find paint color for bedroom
-Have fun with family and friends at many weddings!
-Plan a trip for family
-Enjoy frozen desserts
-Go on long walks
-Make a new recipe (savory or sweet)
