holiday baking

It’s the time of the year where the fridge is stocked with butter and eggs, the oven is on overdrive and the aprons are constantly in use.

What is on your holiday baking list?! Chocolate dipped shortbread is always one of my favorites. | www.passthecookies.com

This probably doesn’t come as a shock, but one of my favorite things about the holiday season is baking cookies and treats to share. I bring lots of cookies to my coworkers, friends, family and even the bus driver. Every year we make the same cookie recipes, trying a new one every now and then to see if it sticks. There are so many recipes that look so delicious that I think I might need to branch out even more this year. Below are some of the goodies I would love to make this year – what great recipes are on your holiday baking list?!

Chocolate dipped shortbread – a classic in our family and one of my favorites.
Gingerbread men – dressed in royal icing sweaters.
Pink peppermint bark macarons – these are more work than any of the other recipes, but I made them last year and they turned out beautifully.
Brown butter pecan sandies – slice and bake!
Gingerbread scones – the perfect breakfast treat!
Eggnog, gingerbread and peppermint marshmallows – a package of these makes the perfect gift topper or hostess gift!
Bacon almond brittle with vanilla beans – I have been eyeing this brittle for years now and might finally get around to trying it this year.
Chocolate peppermint cake – I love the chocolate peppermint combination this time of the year.

So, what did I miss? What are your favorites? What new things should we try this year?!
