4th of July has become one of my favorite holidays. Growing up 4th of July was fun if we had plans, but there were never specific plans or traditions we continued every year. Now that I am part of Will’s family, we join them every year with lots of traditions for 4th of July. As one holiday where everyone joins together, it is truly like Christmas in July.
We all wear red, white and blue for the huge lunch of ribs, usually on the 4th of July, but shifted this year due to the holiday falling on Monday. The day after ribs and red, white and blue, all of the guys in the group wear Hawaiian shirts and we cook a low country boil. These photos were taken on Hawaiian shirt day, but never fear, the decorations and desserts brought red, white and blue to us all weekend.
There is plenty of Hawaiian to go around, and for some reason, all blue.
And some sass from the women in the family! :)
Charlie’s Angels in the photobooth and a twin dancing emoji complete the photos from the day. It was a 4th of July to remember, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else for the patriotic holiday! So much family, food and fun every year, and we always hate to leave. Could we get a longer holiday weekend, please? We would gladly sing along to some more Jimmy Buffett, supervise slip’n’slides, and gobble down some more delicious meals. And the countdown to July 4, 2017 begins.
