As we gear up for October and pumpkin season (which starts in September in my mind), I don’t want to leave out another great fall flavor – apples! I eat at least one apple a day, sometimes more, so while pumpkin is my favorite seasonal flavor, there is a special place in my heart for a crisp apple.
Fresh apples and apple cider are tied to lots of my fall memories. The smells and tastes of the fall fruit and it’s juice remind me of coming home from school to the smell of mulled cider on the stove, tasting all of the different kinds of local apples at the farmers’ market surrounded by stands lined with pumpkins and mums, meeting my dad at the bus stop on a crisp fall day and receiving a hug and a mug of hot apple cider, and picking apples straight from the tree on a September weekend. These memories and traditions are some that I want to continue throughout the years. One way I can make new fall memories with the flavors that resonate so much with me is by baking new apple recipes to share the season with friends, family, and coworkers.
This apple roundup is full of delicious apple baked goods that I am excited to try. Do you have any apple or apple cider-related recipes and traditions I should try?
